Flowers and Blooms

Hello!  Ann from the LB Design Team and the blog AnnMakes with a blooming show n' tell!  I just can't get enough flowers in my life.  I grow them, I plant them and I even craft them.  No wonder I love using Linnie Bloom products so much!

I love being outside in the summer time and using our pool.  Right now it is still a bit too cool for a swim but it is still nice place to sit and do some drawing.  Here is a shot of my latest art journal page that was inspired by some of the flowers we set out by our pool.

I am working in a Canson Mix Media 7 x 10, 9olb journal.
I used The Flowers and Blooms Stencil and masks set from Linnie Blooms and the Petal Flower in canvas, also from Linnie Blooms (both available here).  The background is painted with Colourarte Watercolour paint in Vanilla.  The inks used in the flowers are old ink pads I had.(Color Box).  I made the black outlines with Micron Pigma pens from Sakura.

This is a picture of just the journal page.

I really enjoy using these stencils and masks in my art journals as they are the perfect size, they are durable, easy to clean, and come packaged in a ziplock bag.  Making these the perfect travelling artist supply!

"Lovely Princess" 12x12 Canvas Scrapbook Page

Hi All! It's Rochelle here today to share with you this 12x12 Layout I created on a Linnie Blooms 12x12 Canvas Scrapbook Page.  I love creating scrapbook layouts, it's what I create most of the time.  Being able to create a layout on a 12x12 canvas is not only innovative, it's also super fun!!

Here's my layout:

Here's the 12x12 canvas before I started to create the layout:
The canvas comes already stitched, lined with recycled paper.  So it's very durable! :)

I used a Tim Holtz stencil with textured (white) paint to create the sun rays:

After adding 3 different Heidi Swapp color sprays to create the background, I chose a few different pieces os patterned paper and layered them.  I love using the Linnie Blooms Mesh.  I added it into my layers and just love how it came out!

I used the Linnie Blooms Canvas Petal Flowers and the Linnie Blooms Leaves to create this flower.

I used the same Heidi Swapp color sprays that I used for the background to color the flower. I scrunched up one petal flower and layered it onto another one and added a small piece of the mess for the center.

Lastly, I added my embellishments and I was done! :)

If you haven't tried creating on a 12x12  Canvas Scrapbook Page, you need to try it!!! :)

You can purchase the12x12 Canvas on the Linnie Blooms website HERE.

Thanks for stopping by the Linnie Blooms Blog!!

Altered Clip Board

Welcome to the Linnie Blooms Blog.  I'm Karen and today I am sharing a Altered Clip Board. I wanted to create something beyond my usual paper crafting and thanks to a conversation with my sister, Janet, the embellished clip board was born.  She needed a quick thank you gift for her breast feeding consultant who helped her with her newborn. The finished clip board is pretty and feminine, as well as, a useful and practical gift.

Linnie Blooms Canvas Bookmark, Linnie Bloom Hand-dyed Trim, fabric scraps, watercolor paints, water brush, Stickles glitter glue, K&Co wooden embellishment, tulle, twine, ribbon, clip board

1. Paint the canvas bookmark with watercolor paints stopping just at the edge of the stitching.  Then iron the bookmark between two sheets of copy paper to speed up the drying time and help it to lay flat.  Apply a thin layer of glitter glue over the paint to give it a subtle twinkle. When dry, paint the wooden embellishment and adhere it to the canvas bookmark.

2. To assemble a fabric Yo Y, cut a circle of fabric 4 inch in diameter. Hand sew a row of basting stitches along the edge of the circle.  Next, tighten the thread to gather the fabric forming a little pouch and flatten.  Secure stitches by knotting off and clipping the threads.

3.  Attach a ribbon rose to the center of the Yo Yo.  Lastly, cut four 3 inch circles of tulle fabric.  Fold each circle in half twice and baste them together to form a layered  circle.  Glue the folded tulle layers under the Yo Yo flower to give it more texture and dimension.

4. Next, attach the canvas bookmark along the top metal clip and embellish with a ribbon bow.  Finally, glue the finished flower to the top of the clipboard.  If desired, use a piece of jute or twine 18 inches long to secure a pen to the clipboard.

Ballerina Treat Bag

Hi Bloomers,

Hope you've been loving all of the creations from the design team. Did you see the blog hop? some real yummie fun things were created and Linnie Blooms has another blog hop coming up soon (stay tuned for more details).

Today my creation came from using the treat bag  1 per pack ($3.49) , I love planning parties and giving everyone party gifts and these bags are perfect for doing so.  You can use them to make all sorts of things to create for your event or put together for your theme.

I wanted to make something fun and I used the Full Canvas Tree (upside down) and I used the Blue and Peach colored trims and the Treat Bag.

I punched holes into the sides of the bag using my cropadile, very easy holding both sides together (you could add eyelets to keep the circles strong).  I added the Blue Trim to the handle with other misc. ribbons.
I used the full canvas tree upside down  and allowed it to curl so. it would give a look  for my tutu.

I added some texture, stickles  and  thread to the tutu.

I added fabri-tac to attach the tutu to the treat bag

Remember these fun bags for your next party-Holidays, Trick or Treat

Have Fun

Sweet Mother's Day card and pin

Hey everyone...Dawn here with a sweet and simple Mother's Day card and gift in one!

I made the flower into a pin and pinned it on the card.  You can make several of these for all the mom's you know in just a couple of hours. Or just one in a few minutes.  I will be doing these cards as a class in my store this Saturday.

I used the Linnie Blooms small flower (2) and a small leaf.  I cut each petal just a little to make it more 3 dimensional. I painted it with Gelatos...including the leaf...and then "stitched" the petals with a sharpie marker after it was dry and glued a button in the center and the pin on the back. Voila! Easy Peasy

The paper is from Carta Bella.

This is the inside of the card...
                                                                     Back of the card.

Just glue the pin on the back with a glue gun. Done!

Fast and simple! But so sweet and pretty. I think any mom would love this little token of love.  Would be fun to make a few of these for a Mother's Day tea, baby or bridal shower, or a little girls birthday party too.

Make sure to go to the Linnie Blooms website and check out all the new awesome kits and products.

And please join me on my store facebook page...Morning Star Crafts and Collectibles.

Thank you...Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's!

I'm Back! :)

Hello!!!  I am so excited to be back on the Linnie Blooms Design Team. :)
Here's a little bit about me.  I have been crafting since 2003.  Although I mostly make scrapbook layouts,  I LOVE to play around with mixed media and textures and incorporating all of it onto my layouts. I was on the very first design team here at Linnie Blooms.  I stayed around a while and then as life happens, I got extremely busy and had to cut back on a few design teams.  But you couldn't keep me away from playing with CANVAS for long! :)  I am back and super excited to hopefully inspire you all with my creativity!

Today, I would like to share with you a 8x10 canvas board that I created using Linnie Blooms stamps, Canvas Bird, Canvas Leave and Canvas Pennants.  I’m sorry I don’t have step by step photos.  Actually, I was just playing around with this piece and I ended up really liking it and wanted to share it with you all! :)
To create the background, I started by treating the canvas with Gesso.  Then I used Gelatos with water to create the background color. Next, I took a honeycomb stencil and used a babywipe to remove the gelato color exposing the white Gesso.  I used the same technique with a Bingo stamp creating a white bingo image.  After sprinkling a few drops of Studio Calico mist sprays and letting the piece dry, I added the doily and covered it with a very thin coat of clear Gesso.  To finish up the background I used Linnie Blooms stitch stamps - Stitched Greetings and Stiched Sunshine -- LOVE THEM!!!

You know what else I LOVE... the canvas bird!!!  I love it so much that you may see it on every project of mine!! lol  I love the versatility of the bird.... color it, stamp it, paint it, doodle on it... whatever you want.  In this case, I used Gelatos and a stamp for his body.  I used a Canvas Leave as the wing.  Isn’t he cute? :)
I pretty much did the same with the pennants. I used Gelatoes and stamps.

Lastly, I layered the papers, bird, rosette ribbon, pennants and bling  pulling it all together by  adding an adorable photo of my Best Friend’s granddaughter!

There you have it! I hope you like my project and I hope it inspires you to play around with these awesome Canvas Pieces.  You can find more information about these Canvas Pieces on the Linnie Blooms website.

Happy Crafting!
